How to check Emirates ID Status?

Here are three different ways to check the your Emirates ID status – whether it’s valid or not.

Method 1- Emirates ID status – Online check

  1. Visit official site of Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship and choose ID card status services on this  link
  2. Now you need to either provide you PRAN-Personal Registration Acknowledgement Number or Emirates ID number. 
  3. Your id card status will be displayed.

Method 2- Emirates ID status – Check through application

Another way to check the status of your id card is through the application. All you need to do is to download the CA UAE Smart app. On this application, you can provide your emirates Id number to check its status and validity. 

Method 3- Emirates ID status – Check via call center

In case you tried to check the status of emirates id online but somehow are facing an issue, you can contact customer service. Provide them your id card number and personal details and they will give you a status update. Call center number is:600522222

How to apply for Emirates ID

Here are two methods you can follow to get an emirates ID.

Method 1-Apply online-

Here are some steps you need to take for an Emirates ID application.

1-Visit official site of Federal Authority of Identity and Citizenship and follow this link that takes you to emirates ID

2-Now here you will see three options:

  • Apply for a new ID
  • Renew Emirates ID 
  • Replacement for lost or damaged ID

3-Choose to apply for a new ID and then you will provide your details. 

4-Following documents are required for:

For UAE Nationals 

  • Family Book Proof 
  • Original Passport Copy 
  • White Background Photo 

GCC Nationals 

  • Original passport copy 
  • Valid Gulf card  
  • White Background Photo 
  • Residency permit 

For UAE Residents 

    • Original valid passport 
    • White background photos 
  • Residency visa 
  • Work Permit 
  • Marriage certificate if on a sponsor visa 
  • Birth certificate if the sponsor is a passport  

5-The process of emirates id registration is straightforward once you follow the prompts on the website.

6-You will pay the emirates id registration fee and then the application process begins.

Once your application is approved, and ID is ready, you will get notification on your contact number or email. You will be told how to collect your emirates ID but generally you get it via email and from a service center. 

Method 2-Emirates ID card application at Amer center

  1. If you don’t prefer online application then another way to get emirates ID is to visit Amer center approved by the FAIC
  2. Make sure you have all the documents ready.
  3. Fill the form and continue with biometrics. 
  4. Pay the application fee at the center.

That’s it, you will wait for notification of your ready Emirates ID.

What is the Emirates ID card fee?

Typical cost of getting an Emirates ID is somewhere between AED 70 to AED 175. You will pay AED 70 online and AED 175 at accredited typing centers or Amer centers. However, keep in mind that this fee can be more or less depending on your application type, validity period and urgent services. You can get an exact idea of the fee while applying for your Emirates ID card.

How long does it take to get an Emirates ID?

You need to wait for 7 to 15 working dates to get your emirates id. In case you need your ID card within 24 hours then you can avail Fawri services. It means you will pay an urgent fee alongside the normal card fee to get your Emirates ID card ready.

How to collect Emirates ID?

You will get notification via email or SMS once your card is ready from ICP. You can contact Emirates Post to collect this id card.
